At Christmas 2025, the ELTE University Library and Archives awarded Tibor Móring, research librarian at the Education and Research Support Department, in recognition of his high-quality professional work and his contribution to enhancing the prestige of our institution. This year, for the first time, the Pro Bibliotheca Universitatis Junior award was also presented to Ádám Bollók, IT specialist in the IT and Development Department, in recognition of his successful work and outstanding performance.

As part of the Hungarian Science Festival series of events, on November 20, 2025, the ELTE Bárczi Gusztáv Faculty of Special Education commemorated the life and work of Dr. Flóra Kozmutza (1905–1995) with a conference and exhibition dedicated to her work.

On the 150th anniversary of Ferenc Toldy's death and the 220th anniversary of his birth, the MNMKK Petőfi Literary Museum is organising a memorial event on the 10th of December, where our colleague, Dr. Krisztina Tóth, will give a lecture on Toldy's work as a collection organiser and library builder.

Our series, titled “Mosaics from the Heritage of ELTE”, presents some of the outstanding cultural heritage of Eötvös Loránd University. The object of the month – Pages from the history of Typography TE (Budapest: University Press, 1973).

The ELTE University Library and Archives offers extended opening hours for readers and students on weekdays and Saturdays between the 1st of December 2025 and the 17th of January 2026 until 22.00 hours. Our community space offers the opportunity to learn, relax, use kitchen facilities and free computer access. The self-service facilities in the lobby and the community space on the ground floor will continue to be available with a valid library card on weekdays from 7:00 a.m. and on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m.
