The Library will be closed between the 23rd of December 2024 and the 1st of January 2025. Our library's services will be available from the 2nd of January 2025.

Due to the relocation of our external warehouse the books and doctoral dissertations stored there, as well as the entire stock of the library's periodicals, will be unavailable until the beginning of January 2025. Many of our books are still available for loan and current literature can be found on the open shelves.

The University Library Services of Eötvös Lorand University, as the service provider of the digital knowledge asset of the university, also directly participates in making this knowledge asset socially beneficial.

The mission of the University Library Service of the leading university of sciences in the country is to support the Eötvös Loránd University in becoming a knowledge centre which is able to meet the challenges and requirements of the 21st century and to play a determining role in the Central and Eastern European region. The University Library Services of Eötvös Loránd University collects, preserves, catalogues and makes available to the public the national and European cultural legacy in the possession of the university, the broad knowledge base and the scientific findings in the various branches of science researched and taught at the university. The librarians of ELTE cooperate with each other to provide access to the knowledge assets of the University for the citizens of the university, for the members of the scientific community as well as for the public by offering user-friendly and high quality services and by using efficient and modern information technologies.
