The purpose of the acessible library workteam is to give equal opportunities to people with reduced mobility at accessing information. Members of the team are disability specialized library coordinators.
Several steps have been taken by EKSZ member libraries in order to make accessible wider range of services for users with special needs. Nevertheless possibilities at libraries are very different, so that range and quality of services are different too.
The main aim of the team is to familiarize librarians with the neads of these disabled people. Assessing the possibilities of each library, we would like to publish practicable routines, and patterns. To improve the satisfaction of the target group we make proposals for implementing integrated, higher quality services. We would like to establish close, cooperating connection with the disability specialised coordinators of the campus, and the Disability Center, to assure equal possibilities accessing the cultural values stored by out facilities.
