List of subscribed and freely available literature databases.
Due to the relocation of our external warehouse the books and doctoral dissertations stored there, as well as the entire stock of the library's periodicals, will be unavailable until the beginning of January 2025. Many of our books are still available for loan and current literature can be found on the open shelves.
The Library will be closed on the 29th November 2024 due to an university event.
List of subscribed and freely available literature databases.
The university almanacs, yearbooks contain the name and other personal information of the institution’s employee, professors and students’. The almacs of Eötvös Loránd University have survived from 1830 to 1992/93 semester. Data from almanacs are very valuable, as they are the only sources from the 19th century that have preserved the list of students enrolled in the university.
An important part of the work of the archives is the issuance of academic certificates. Customers can send us their requests in letter, e-mail or in person during the opening hours of the archives.
You can research in the research room. Every natural person may research regarding his/her research topic who adopt the research rules and the ordered documents are not subject to regulation. Our collegues and the reserch service manager can provide information the way of reserach.

The nearest station is ’Kocka utca’ which is served by Tram line 28, 37 and Bus line 85E. After getting of the public transport walk down on ’Olaj utca’ until the Magyar Gyula High School then turn left tot he gate of the archives.
If you arriving by car we provide free parking in front of the gate of the archives.

Microdata are used in official statistics for the production of aggregate information (usually tables). Access to confidential microdata is restricted in order to protect the anonymity of individual persons or businesses.

The University Library and Archives of Eötvös Lorand University is glad to inform our dear Readers that according to the current university regulations, our reading rooms are expected to be closed until the end of August 2021. Our library provides rental and other services – even during the whole summer period. The University Library and Archives is committed to providing access to its online content and services in a user-friendly manner during this changed situation. The Eötvös Loránd University Library and Archives’ exhibition won first place with the title Under the spell of Accuracy. The Life and Work of Loránd Eötvös in the category of archival exhibitions announced by the Association of Hungarian Archivists.
