Due to the relocation of our external warehouse the books and doctoral dissertations stored there, as well as the entire stock of the library's periodicals, will be unavailable until the beginning of January 2025. Many of our books are still available for loan and current literature can be found on the open shelves.

The National Programme for Electronic Information Services and the Eötvös Loránd University of Applied Sciences have contracted to support Open Access publishing for ELTE affiliated authors and several publishers.

The ELTE University Library and Archives is launching an online information session for editors of ELTE journals on how to increase the international visibility of their journals. The following topics are included in the planned programme: strategies for meeting journal indexing criteria, recommendation for the order of database registrations, presentation of an online self-checking spreadsheet summarising the criteria for selecting journals for inclusion in databases, ethical publishing, authorship issues.

New volume, "Practices of Research Data Management: Established procedures and pilot projects" has been published by the Library and Information Centre of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, and it is available online for free.

As of January 1st 2023, the L'Harmattan Digital Database will be available under a new name and at a new location that is the L'Harmattan Open Access és Archive platform.

The quota for fully open journals (258) in the 2022 agreement with Springer has recently been exhausted on the 6th of December 2022. The possibility to publish in the publisher's corresponding hybrid journals is not affected by this exhaustion, authors are welcome to continue submitting manuscripts to these journals, and all APC applications received may be approved.
